on reading a poemPart 1:
i prefer to sit,
i’m smaller that way- more room for my words to get lost or die down to the hush of a whisper. no one is listening.
They are silent, The room light is dimmed and courteous to the occasion and they are all waiting for something profound; some thought provoking masterpiece of genius or a compete bastardization of disguised pretentious idiocy.   They wait for a form of connectedness, A word to hold onto; A thought.

a dam ha rishonto my little brother- when you tell me things like you dont believe in g-d:
if i answered you fully, you wouldnt understand it yet. youre too young for all of that.
you say, "how can i?"
i try to tell you, for you to appreciate things- to know that life is a gift, and not a football game; but you are only sixteen, and your life is limited to permits and girls- tactless smoking and not yet entering those rude awakenings- you think; you take it for granted and you wont really listen. i didn't.

Rabbi Jennywhen i think of you, i know you are delicate, soft; like- the three a.m. snow covered streets that havent been paved yet. theres a beauty in staying up to see it, looking out the window- walking outside, everything untouched and quiet, quaint and divine.

the air is crisp and fresh and new- giving birth to- a new day, a new season- a time to start over. its this kind of exquisite nature that captures you; that captivated me- godly sparks- lucky enough to find you in the worst of the times.

Took me some time to get them right but once you do, it's really easy.

The trick for me was to pay real attention to the eye "geometry", how it's spherical at some points and how the skin folds and stuff...

Another challenge for me was learning how to draw a whole lot lighter. When you learn to make lighter strokes it's easier to lay down the basic shapes on the paper and then refine them with stronger strokes.

I'm glad mine will be useful.
